Catch some of the best Ottawa has to offer as local musicians take to the Centrepointe Theatres Studio for an intimate live performance. This series is a mini festival where a selection of homegrown talent comes together under one roof. Each evening features three different performers and invites music lovers of all ages to discover and rediscover the incredible gems of Ottawa’s growing music scene.

Catriona Sturton
Big heart, big lungs. Sings like an angel, plays like a beast. Rock and roll lover of Heavenly and the heaviest blues.
After learning to file harmonica reeds in a back alley, Catriona toured Canada as the bassist for Halifax teen-rockers, Plumtree (who inspired the cult-favourite book and movie, Scott Pilgrim, with their song of the same name). She’s toured with harmonica wizards, played in a Hiroshima-based garage rock band, was a guest on The Price is Right, and has been to more places in remote Canada than most people ever get to.

Shawn Tavenier
Shawn Tavenier is an entertainer truly at home on the stage. Based out of Ottawa, Canada this charismatic singer/songwriter and front man for roots rock powerhouse Silver Creek is known for his strong stage presence, powerful voice, and his ability to grab an audience. As a songwriter, Tavenier is not afraid to embrace his love of the written word and poetry and blend it with unique but still classic melodies. The beginning of 2017 saw the release of “Promise of Love,” Tavenier’s first solo single.

Raised in Egypt, and now calling Canada home, Malak was immersed in diverse musical influences from a young age. Drawing from her multicultural heritage, she has developed a sound fusing orchestral and electronic pop into a captivating and accessible style. Since releasing her debut EP, Circus, in winter of 2016, Malak has since released a further seven videos. Her latest three received between 70,000 and 90,000 Facebook views and hundreds of shares in Canada, the US, Egypt and the Emirates from current and new listeners. Malak has performed at numerous festivals including Ottawa's 2017 international music industry conference, Megphono Festival, RBC Bluesfest, and Ottawa Grassroots Fest – opening for Ken Whitely- and Festival Folk et Guitarre d’Aylmer. She is currently recording her newest album.

"Malak filled the room with her incredible, multi-octave voice, accompanying herself on keyboard to a song that evoked the epic scope of Lady Gaga mixed with the artistic sensibility of Kate Bush. The emotion in her voice was spine-tingling.
