Encore Ottawa - Season 3

Presented by Ottawa Music Industry Coalition (OMIC)

Encore Ottawa is back with 14 concerts for Season 3

Filmed at Meridian Theatres @ Centrepointe and Shenkman Arts Centre

Tune in for the Encore Ottawa Season 3 series premiere on Thursday, March 24 at 8 pm on Rogers TV Channel 22. You can also join the artists on Rogers TV Ottawa’s YouTube Channel for the Encore Ottawa Watch Party and live chat. This one-hour special will include one song from every artist’s half-hour set.

After the March 24 premiere, the full concerts will air as double-header shows on Rogers TV Ottawa (cable & free streaming).

Following the successful pilot of Encore Ottawa, a series of 16 pre-recorded concerts featuring over 40 local musicians which aired weekly on RogersTV throughout the winter of 2021, and Encore Ottawa Season 2, which featured 23 performances with 60+ local musicians, Encore Ottawa Season 3 was set to be live and in person, however, Omicron had other plans.

The Ottawa Music Industry Coalition (OMIC), Shenkman Arts CentreMeridian Theatres @ Centrepointe, and RogersTV quickly pivoted (most-used word of the past two years) to ensure these concerts took place even without the audience.

Encore Ottawa 3 features over 30 local musicians in 14 concerts during the next eight weeks. With artists ranging from emerging to award winners these concerts showcase a diverse array of genres of music. Encore Ottawa 3 is supported by the Canada Arts Presentation Fund ProgramSupport for Workers in Live Arts and Music Sectors Fund.

“I’m so honoured to be a part of this showcase by OMIC. I’ve been hearing so much about the work that they have been doing to support local artists since their inception, especially during the pandemic. Their recognition means a lot to me,” says Juno Award winning singer and composer, Kellylee Evans.

“Ottawa’s musicians have fantastic art to share,” said Karim Rostom, Program Coordinator for the Ottawa Music Industry Coalition, “It’s been an honour to once again offer them a stage when performing live music seemed impossible. I’m eager for everyone to experience these incredible concerts, and hope that these recordings will some day remind us of what Ottawa musicians were able to achieve during this strange time.”

“Ottawa has such tremendous talent” said Jahn Fawcett, the Acting Artistic Producer and Manager for Shenkman Arts Centre. “We hope we can shine a spotlight on some of these artists for audiences to discover. And look for their live shows coming up around Ottawa!”

Allan Sansom, the Artistic Producer and Manager for Meridian Theatres @ Centrepointe had this to say: “Ottawa has an amazing music scene and we’re excited to feature a bit of it in Encore Ottawa 3.  It’s easy to support local artists when they’re of such a high calibre.”

Please note: All public health recommendations were followed to ensure everyone's safety during the filming of Encore Ottawa 3.
