Voices of the Heart

This show is presented in English and Chinese.
An evening of musical theatre based on the themes of love and beauty. Consists of four theatrical scenes from Romeo and Juliet, Jane Eyre, Madame Butterfly and The Peony Pavillion, plus a poetry reading, a dance number and singing. It is a bilingual presentation in Chinese and English with the aim of bringing local Chinese dramatic talents and contents to the attention of English speaking audiences.
The Jingmei Art Space has produced several theatrical pieces in Ottawa over the past decade, including CHASING DREAMS and MY CANADA MY HOME. In addition, the principal behind the Jingmei Art Space spent over a decade as a lead actor in the Shanghai National Theatre, and as a lead in two Toronto productions, SUNRISE and SYLVIA. These have all been presented exclusively in Chinese. This is her first work to be presented to English speaking audiences in the Ottawa area.
