Adrian Sutherland

Adrian Sutherland is known for his melding of folk, rock, roots, and blues, drawing inspiration from his northern life, traditional lands, and Cree culture. His music touches hearts, with soul-stirring songs rippling far beyond stages and airwaves.
He has worked with great producers such as Tim Vesely (Blue Rodeo, Serena Ryder, Gord Downie) and Colin Linden (Blackie and the Rodeo Kings, Bruce Cockburn, Colin James) and collaborated with Jay Semko, Chris Gormley, Matt Gormley, Scott Dibble, Tim Vesely, Colin Cripps, and Serena Ryder to co-write songs for the new album.
The result is a seamless collection of songs that weave stories of hope and resilience with blended ‘Americana’ sounds. When the Magic Hits is a contemporary roots album that was recorded in the remote, northern Ontario landscape of Attawapiskat First Nation. This is the land Adrian calls home and the place that inspires him to share his Indigenous-based creativity with audiences around the world.
