Matthew Chaffey is a deeply soulful and passionate singer from Ottawa who has toured through Texas and Canada, co-written on JUNO winning and nominated albums, and backed up legendary rhythm and blues artists who have all helped shape his vision and sound. Having a career of over 20 years he has won the Stingray Rising Star award and has co-written songs on JUNO nominated and JUNO winning albums.
This concert will be the official release of his 2023 debut solo album Unknown Legend, which was produced by JUNO-winning Ken Friesen. Having developed his skill as a musician backing up many different American rhythm and blues artists and fronting his own groups playing everything from rock, blues, classic country, soul, and electronic synth pop, Unknown Legend is a return to the direct and emotional sounds of classic soul mixed with pop, groove, and funk with some modern elements.
